The Catholic nuns were also the first group of people to step in and help homosexuals when the AIDS crisis hit in 1981. The nuns stepped in to help at the time when even gay men were abandoning one another from fear and confusion. After the nuns stepped in,gay men realized that they have to start helping one another,as well. In San Francisco, there is a group of homosexuals called "The Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence". They dress in nun's garb. They mock nuns. They have nothing but disdain for them. They mock and hate the Catholic church,including the nuns who helped gay men when no one else would,including gay men themselves. The San Francisco papers occasionally write glowing articles about the "sisters". The ingratitude is putrid. Joe
