But as this country's newspaper of record, the NYT goes far beyond merely raising holiday alms for their "neediest cases."  Through the deceptive words of its venerated pages, the Times pours on the pretending to care about social justice thing so thick, you would think that by now, they would realize that people have caught on to their disingenuous ways. But no, the evil individuals on the editorial board of the New York Times are at war with the status quo they have already so thoroughly altered; they won't be happy until they have irreversibly transformed the very fabric of euro-centric global civilization.

Because in the perverted, extremist minds of the verminous reality reversers of Forty Second Street, the comfortable will never be truly afflicted until they are dead and gone. 

And by comfortable we mean of course: the non-poor, the non-colored, the non-gay, the non-male, the non-intelligent. The straight white male and his zone of influence, in a nutshell, is the enemy. Albert Schweitzer And His Controversial "My African Notebook" Quotes: Setting The Record Straight

(Slightly O/T, but) : As I type this, the elegant and regal Gregory Peck is on the AMC network (yes, the same people who do "Walking Dead") playing the perfect Southern noble white man, in the 1962 film "To Kill A  Mockingbird," which is based on a plotline (white on black rape) that today the Department of Justice itself says has a 36,000-to-one chance of actually happening!

Thirty-six thousand to one chance it'll actually happen, and yet Hollywood as far back as 50 years ago was making this crap required reading in grade schools. Who reading here doesn't remember having to write a book report about Harper Lee and her one and only best-seller?

But I digress somewhat for the purposes of this post, which is devoted to the work of Albert Schweitzer, and more specifically to the cleansing of his sullied name.

Consider this:

We've all heard about the great Franco-Germanic Nobel Prize-winning doctor Albert Schweitzer (1888 - 1965), who much like the now-reviled Dr. James D. Watson (born 1925; awarded Nobel Prize 1962), Schweitzer today is known among the majority of modern audiences such as myself and no doubt the majority of the readership of this blog, not so much for his contribution to the betterment of mankind, and in his case specifically Africa, but rather Schweitzer is known almost exclusively for the "controversial nature" of a few condescending comments towards the Africans he spent his life caring for .

In much the same way that Stephen Jay Gould's 1981 "Mismeasure of Man" became the undisputed refutal of all things "scientific racism" and required reading among college and even high school students for the past three decades, the most "controversial" words of Albert Schweitzer, supposedly extracted from his 1939 "My African Notebook," have been systematically whitewashed, downplayed, and even erased from the record, to the point that over and over again the average online reader will be made to believe that Schweitzer said nothing of the sort, and more significantly, the average person has been made to believe that Schweitzer himself believed nothing of the sort.

The disputed Schweitzer quote is as follows :

"I have given my life to try to alleviate the sufferings of Africa. There

is something that all white men who have lived here like I must learn and

know: that these individuals are a sub-race. They have neither the

intellectual, mental, or emotional abilities to equate or to share equally

with white men in any function of our civilization. I have given my life

to try to bring them the advantages which our civilization must offer, but

I have become well aware that we must retain this status: the superior and

they the inferior. For whenever a white man seeks to live among them as

their equals they will either destroy him or devour him. And they will

destroy all of his work. Let white men from anywhere in the world, who

would come to Africa, remember that you must continually retain this

your social equals or they will devour you. They will destroy you."

So are those really the words of Albert Schweitzer? Try googling them for yourself, and you will see that provenance is not only anything but certain, but also there are countless Touré-style postings that attempt to discredit the man, and the veracity of the provenance that links that quote to him.

One standard response to this inconvenient Schweitzer quote from 1939 goes something like this:

Answer: This quote is utterly false and is an outrageously inaccurate picture of Dr. Schweitzer’s view of Africans.  Dr. Schweitzer never said or wrote anything remotely like this.  It does NOT appear in the book African Notebook.  On the question of Schweitzer and race, my own comments from the Foreword to the current edition of African Notebook, are below.

Here's where it gets interesting though: as hard a time as you will have finding the actual "My African Notebooks" quote, you can easily pop over to Google books and see another Schweitzer quote, from another Schweitzer book that is even available in its entirety on Google books, a book entitled  "On The Edge Of The Primeval Forest." It is the story of Schweitzer's first foray into Africa, in 1913, when as a 38 year-old Doctor he set out from Bordeaux France along with his wife and assistant (who goes hardly mentioned in the 1914 tome, which is curious) for the French missionary town of Lambaréné in colonial Gabon, where he practiced in the bush for five years, before returning to Europe and eventually coming back to Lambaréné and establishing his famous namesake hospital, which operates to this day and was instrumental in getting him Nobelled.

From his 1914 "Primeval Forest" we get this quote, which though tamer, sounds very much like the later, 1939 "Notebook" quote, the "they will destroy you" quote which the likes of Lachlan Farrow, Touré, CNN, and the rest of the entire world are trying hard to silence :

We’ll leave the Republicans to their discussions in quiet rooms in the hope that at least a few are suggesting throwing out their old and failing playbook, seemingly written by and for a dwindling society of angry white men.

Much can be said about what Mitt Romney’s fatal embrace of hard-core positions on immigration did to his share of the Hispanic vote. (It shriveled, to 27 percent, according to exit polls, compared with 44 percent for George W. Bush in 2004.) Mr. Romney could have followed Mr. Bush’s moderation and won over many Latinos, but he lurched to the right, pushing xenophobic schemes for “self-deportation” and hailing Arizona as a model for immigration reform.

Some Republicans have been warning one another for years about the stupidity of alienating a fast-growing and influential group of Americans. It’s not working. TheHispanic vote went overwhelmingly to Democrats in House and Senate races as well, by roughly the same 75-to-25 split. “We have to fix our Hispanic problem as quickly as possible,” said John Weaver, a Republican strategist.

He’s right. But the Republicans don’t have a Hispanic problem. They have an America problem, a country that is growing more diverse and, on a wide range of issues, shows a sensible moderation and social tolerance far out of step with radio ranting and Tea Party rigidity. It wasn’t just Hispanics who heartily rejected Republicans on Tuesday. It also was African-Americans, Asian-Americans, young people and, to perhaps the greatest effect, women.

In exit polls on Tuesday night, two-thirds of voters said undocumented immigrants working in the United States should be offered a chance to apply for legal status. Only about one in three said they should be deported. (At the state level, in Maryland, voters overwhelmingly approved giving in-state college tuition rates to young undocumented immigrants.) Six in 10 voters said abortion should be legal. More than 50 percent said they believed the economy favors the wealthy, and most of them supported raising taxes on people making more than $250,000.

For a party that has built itself up on explicit and implied appeals to xenophobia, cultural resentment and income-redistribution for the rich, ideological purity is not a long-term strategy for success.

It is impossible to say how harshly the opaque Mr. Romney would have governed. But he and his party still blindly espouse a rigid theology that worships at the shrine of tax cuts and filibusters. It still includes ideologues whose views on issues like women’s health range from retrograde to medieval. Men like Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly are willing to say in public what Mr. Romney would say only in private to donors: half of Americans are “victims” who feel entitled to health care, food and housing from the government.

This wretched worldview does not apply to all Republicans all the time. Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey recently found things to admire in a Democratic president’s big-government help in an emergency. But the talk-show host Mark Levin told him to “shut the hell up.”

If the Republican Party turns away from self-destruction, it should do so for the right reasons. America shouldn’t reform immigration because Republicans need to add slices to their shrinking loaf of Wonder Bread. It should fix immigration because the system is broken and unjust and millions of people are suffering. Republicans should embrace family values for all families, gay families, too — along with protecting reproductive rights and access to health care — because these are the right things to do for the country we’re in, not the country they imagine it to be.

Whatever really happened in either case, I am prone to automatically take the side of anyone or anything relentlessly pilloried by the verminous reality reversers at the New York Times. In the case of Armstrong, they have been publishing front page articles on the guy for the past two weeks that make him look thoroughly dishonest.  It is a general rule of newspaper journalism that the last line of an article be presented in quotation marks, a citation bearing the thoughts or comments of a person featured in the subject being discussed in the article.

More often than not, the dishonest left-leaning lying communist weasels at Amerika's newspaper of record use the last sentence rule as an excuse to sneak in their own personal opinions.

Today's front-page New York Times article on yesterday's elections in Venezuela, where pineapple-head Hugo "I Smell Dee Devil" Chavez appears to have won 54% percent of the vote, against his opponent Henrique Capriles Radonski's 45%,  seems to be no exception to this sneaky journalistic practice.

Consider the last sentence of "Chavez Wins in Venezuela, Holding Off Surge By Opposition," which appeared along with an above-the-fold photo on the front page of today's national edition:

The diseased, malevolent, communist reality-reversers at Amerika's newspaper of record published an absolutely massive front page obit today devoted to Times publisher Arthur "Punch" Ochs Sulzberger.

Not a single word though in this obit about the Tribe's control of Western media, or even that Pinky Punch was a member of that tribe. In a sane society, the fact that Sulzberger was a member of a very select group who dominate in all domains intellectual and commercial, would be a story unto itself. Not however for the verminous reality contortionists at Amerika's newspaper of record, who gushed on and on about Pinky's accomplishments, with special emphasis on his "ultimate achievement" - namely deciding to publish the leaked Pentagon Papers in 1971. (Which was sort of like a Wikileaks practice run, only bigger).



Consider two highly revealing excerpts from Pinky's obituary :

The elephant in the room here of course, the un-spoken yet screaming reality, is that Pinky was not so much thinking about doing good "for others," as he was thinking about doing good for the Tribe, his own people. Though a healthy reflex unto itself (as long as we don't consider the wider consequences for Western Civilization), Pinky's sentiments at eight, reflect a time-immemorial biological survival imperative that he might not (at 8 yrs old) have even been aware of, or understood.
