"On Tuesday, the organization he founded and runs, the Equal Justice Initiative in Montgomery, Ala., released a report on the history of lynchings in the United States, the result of five years of research and 160 visits to sites around the South. The authors of the report compiled an inventory of 3,959 victims of “racial terror lynchings” in 12 Southern states from 1877 to 1950.

"Next comes the process of selecting lynching sites where the organization plans to erect markers and memorials, which will involve significant fund-raising, negotiations with distrustful landowners and, almost undoubtedly, intense controversy.

The process is intended, Mr. Stevenson said, to force people to reckon with the narrative through-line of the country’s vicious racial history, rather than thinking of that history in a short-range, piecemeal way.

“'Lynching and the terror era shaped the geography, politics, economics and social characteristics of being black in America during the 20th century,' Mr. Stevenson said, arguing that many participants in the great migration from the South should be thought of as refugees fleeing terrorism rather than people simply seeking work."

Of course the lying pro-black (anti-white, anti-police, anti-law-and-order) scum at the Times fail to mention that extrajudicial killings in the US affected whites every bit as much as blacks, something that a simple highschool-level internet search will confirm.

The racial hatred coming out of Amerika's newspaper of record has really been amped up these past few weeks, what with the word "unarmed black teenager" appearing in seemingly every other sentence of every other article.  I mean it is every gaw dang day that the criminal misinformers of 42nd street tweak the blame-whitey chord, including today in a preposterous monument to blame-shifting entitled "Rise in Murders Has Saint Louis Debating Why."

"At the same time, deeper social roots of violence such as addiction and unemployment continue unchecked. And city officials also cite what they call a “Ferguson effect,” an increase in crime last year as police officers were diverted to control protests after a white officer shot and killed Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager in the nearby suburb on Aug. 9....

"The mayor and the police chief, Sam Dotson, ascribe much of the rise in crime to the extended confrontations that followed the shooting in Ferguson and the failure of the grand jury to indict the white officer, Darren Wilson. Normal patrolling of neighborhoods was interrupted, officers became tired and frustrated, and there was an intangible emboldening of criminals, these officials say.

 "Further raising tensions, racial distrust in a city that is half African-American and deeply segregated has intensified since the Ferguson shooting and the protests that followed. In late January, a hearing to discuss proposals for a civilian review board turned into a shouting match when police officers rose in opposition."

The vermin at the NYT want to have their cake and eat it too, with extra servings for their criminal black pets. They want white cops to just leave black "folk" (to use a word that gives me the hebee jebees when Obama uses it) alone, and they want criminally-inclined ICBMs (inner city black males) to have the freedom to chimp out and kill each other and the occasional non-black. Most of all, the NYT wants to be able to blame every single failure of African Americans on whitey.
