An Open Letter To Nicholas Kristof (Revised)

After Times communist and HBD-Denier In Chief Nicholas Kristof published an op-ed piece entitled "The Birth Control Solution," with the usual utopian ramblings and uber-PC omissions of fundamental race-realist facts on global population differences, my partner wrote him a nasty email in which she called Kristof a "verminous little worm," among other things.

As (deservingly) ugly as the language on this blog can get, and as ugly as the lies that spew forth from the pages of the New York Times often are, I am at heart a gentleman, enough so to be offended by such language when it is directed ad-hominen style at even as worthy a target as Tricky Nick.

Therefore, I felt I had to send Mr. Kristof a sober apology (sort of)  :

Sir :
Sorry Mr. Kristof my partner was a little tipsy when she sent you that email last night. I have since taken away her Captain Morgan privileges and removed her letter to you from the blog.
I nevertheless wanted you to know that I sympathize with her disapproval of  your utopian and thoroughly unrealistic approach to the role of race in many of the subjects you write about.
Time and again you whitewash the very existence of even the idea of racial differences in historical impact, thereby painting a thoroughly misleading picture of what you otherwise so persuasively write about.
Look, we have no bones to pick with you, we know you're a smart guy and probably mean well, but we just want you to know that there are a lot of people out there who see through the anti-western, pro-nonwestern worldview you promote. We understand that competitive compassion (formerly aka competitive altruism) is what makes you stand up for the underdog, but Mr. Kristof, you have to understand that from a macro point of view the underdog is doing very well, thank you very much. There might be individual suffering in the Third World, but as a unique organism the Third World is exploding in body mass. Your own colleague Tom Friedman just commented (tiny.cc/ztf6z) on Underdog's ability to increase his ranks by one billion in just 12 short years (though of course without a word about the decline of the european population over the years - from a high of 33% mid-century to  below 8% today - or the concurrent rise of the african population over the same time frame - namely the same numbers only reversed).
In other words: the type of propaganda that you and the NYT have been putting out for years is working. It has been very effective in fact.
If you were truly altruistic to non-westerners, and indeed if you truly had the compassion for your fellow man that your countless trips to Africa and your endless  promotion of women's rights there would have us believe, you would be helping to ensure the future of the western civilization that brought your protected classes the technologies that allowed the planet to grow and prosper as much as it has, instead of demonizing the West at every turn.
Please be more honest in your reporting. You owe it to your offspring; more so,  you owe it to your readers.
Sincerely,
- Arturo de Gheaube

  2. Your open letter should be titled "Crying in the Rain". The time is long past for that. I have read similar missives to the NYT. They use them to gauge their effectiveness.
